How to revive Bengaluru to its state of greenery

Bengaluru the 4th largest city of India has earned its reputation for its unique set of features and have been given many nicknames ranging from IT to Garden City of India. The city receives ample amount of rainfall during monsoon and keeps the climate cool and pleasant, however with the increase in urban sprawling and explosive population growth Bengaluru has lost its charm that it once had, the city was known for its plethora of gardens and lakes that created a green haven with canopy of trees lined across the busy roads.
With increase demand for housing and industrialization the Greenery in Bangalore had depleted and has greatly affected the ecological balance of the city Scientists at Indian Institute of science (IISC) have given an alarming verdict that Bengaluru be uninhabitable by 2025 which is a huge red flag to the people living in the city.
With Lake Beds getting converted to residential properties and flash floods during heavy rain and lakes being polluted   with effluents that make water bodies combustible Banglureans are in for a major trouble in the future if necessary steps are not taken at the earliest.
Here are some ways you can help Bangalore revive from a climatic meltdown:
1.       Green Commute: Leave your car at home try carpooling by doing so you will be saving money on travelling and if you stay off the road for just two days you will be reducing greenhouse gases by an average of 721 kilograms per year .Complete your grocery shopping, bank visits and other errands at one trip this will reduce fuel expenses and reduce carbon emissions. Use bicycles or electric vehicles to commute short distances which reduce carbon emissions if necessary.
2.       Fly Less:  Air travel leaves a great amount of Carbon footprint, consider other travel options such a buses, trains or taking a vacation someplace close by.
3.       Planting trees: Trees help in a lot of ways by providing shade, clean air, absorbing carbon-di-oxide and providing oxygen, more trees equates to more clean air and healthy neighborhood.
4.        Recycle trash: Using biodegradable components helps in recycling waste and minimizing use of plastic keeps the environment clean. If an office building of 7,000 workers recycled all of its office paper waste for a year, it would be the equivalent of taking almost 400 cars off the road.
5.       Have a garden: A garden not only makes your home look attractive but keeps the surrounding healthy as well people can consider having rooftop gardens if space is minimal at your residence  this helps to keeps the internal environment cool during summers.
6.       Waste Segregation: Segregating of Wet Waste and dry waste helps in clearing out garbage and keeps your locality neat and tidy and avoids spreading of diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Typhoid, etc.

Taking care of your neighborhood and your city is not just a responsibility but it is a privilege in doing so citizens help to maintaining a sound and an eco friendly environment which fosters longevity of life force of our planet.
